Wintery tide pools in Narragansett, Rhode Island, with a rising full moon on the horizon. Winter had arrived and many of the tidepools were dry with seaweed covered fragments of ice that had broken as the day melted and refrozen as the chill set back in. But this deeper pool still contained water. It was quiet and gently reflecting the Belt of Venus in the sky, that band of blue-pink-blue that appears after sunset. The moon began to rise and make it's appearance. Luckily, with no wind to speak of, the tidepool remained still like glass and the quiet winter made its presence known. I put on another coat and waited for the right moment when the moon would reflect just right.
